Mumbai City- The Modern Paradise in India

The commercial capital of India, our very own Mumbai can also be referred to as the tourism capital of our country. This is in keeping with the boom in tourism in Mumbai over the last two decades. Mumbai is the hub of Bollywood paraphernalia, numerous shopping malls, the double-decker BEST buses, awesome nightlife and not to forget the Mumbai monsoon. My cousin brother recently got himself settled in Mumbai and had been inviting me for a Mumbai tour ever since. Therefore, on his repeated insistence, I landed in this amazing city to experience a tinge of the so-called Mumbai life. As soon as I landed, there was a hoard of yellow-black taxis waiting with ‘taxiwallahs’ coaxing me to hire one.

Finally, my Mumbai expedition started at the Gateway of India. Situated in the Colaba area and flanked by the Arabian Sea and Mumbai Harbour, it was a feast for my awe-stricken eyes. I visited a long list of tourist spots during my Mumbai darshan. It included Juhu Beach, Linking Road, Prince Wales Museum, Siddhivinayak Temple, Haji Ali and the magnificent Bandra-Worli sea link. I also took a ride on the ‘lifeline’ of this city- the Mumbai local trains.

As the end of my vacations was approaching, I had to pack my bags and get back to home. Moreover, as a blessing in disguise, my flight got delayed by a day and I had the privilege to get a taste of the city’s Airport hotels Mumbai, which pampered me with all the luxuries of my home. While on my way back, I wrote this blog, applauding the Mumbai tourism that is flourishing at supersonic speed!
